The Thirds - Finale

As we welcome 2012, we await the deciding match in the Thirds Medal.
On Wednesday 18th January, John Good will take on George Chisholm to decide the destination of the medal.  John holds a slight advantage, requiring a peel to lift the silverware, while George requires nothing less than a win in this final match.

The Bonspiel is Coming

After a one year gap (to make way for our steroid filled 150th Anniversary Bonspiel) our regular bonspiel returns on Sunday 15th January at 3.00 pm.  
If you wish to play or have forgotten your original indicated intention, please contact John Niven by Wednesday the 11th January (evening) at the latest.
There will be a club supper at the ice rink following the game. 

Christmas Drinks

A big thanks to Liz, who drafted in the entire (extended) family to help out at the Christmas Drinks Party.
There was a large attendance who all enjoyed the mulled wine (and spirits) and Liz's excellent home baking and quiz.  (Its a shame that I only got one of the two questions based on what I had written for this website correct!)

As the New Year commences we would remind members that we have a thirds competition game on 11th January followed closely by:-
The Aberlady Bonspiel on Sunday 15th January 2012 at 3pm, followed by Supper at the ice rink.

Individual Points Competition

Another evening of skill and gamesmanship that is known as the Individual Points competition was held last night.  A fuller report and all the scores can be found on the results page.

Thirds on a Knife Edge

And so with the Christmas break looming, the last of the Thirds Competition has been played for this year.  It is now balanced with only a bottom of the table clash scheduled for 11th January and the top of the table clash on 18th January left to determine the final positions.
Dont forget that before then on Monday 19th December at 7.30, we still have our Individual Points Competition (see post below). This is open to ALL club members, rink players and reserves and even anyone from the non-playing members list !
