It seems unfair to single them out, as all eight players upped their games for a high quality game.</p><p>It became apparent quickly that, needing at least a 6 end victory, that the McOmish Team would not secure 'The Pies' when they lost the first three ends. However they struck back for the game by taking a 5 and the lead in the fourth end. Consecutive 2's in the next two ends, with the hammer saw the Pies Destination swinging back and forth. Going in to the final end John McOmish was 1 shot up, with David Wyllie needing a 'peel' (ie 1 shot) with the hammer to take the Title. With John playing a raise onto the button with his last stone David was left with a very difficult final shot and was not far away from getting it. The final score of the game was 8 - 6 to John McOmish.</p><p>That left all three teams on two wins and two losses. <b>The winners based on Ends were Daniel Peart, Dale Callander, Rosie Clark and Julia Mackey.</b> </p><p>The other two teams were left on thirteen ends each and had to be separated by 'Shots Up' with the runners up spot going to Team McOmish.</p><p>Commiserations to Team Wyllie who were within two shots of taking the crown and ended up after a VERY close league in third spot.<br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-76831908795588139532024-02-12T14:28:00.001+00:002024-02-12T14:28:20.838+00:00Thirds League - progress<p>The interesting result from the Peart v Wyllie game means that with one game to play, theoretically any of the three rinks could still taste pie at the end of the season.</p><p>The leader, in the clubhouse (behind the glass?), is the Peart squad. The final game is between David Wyllie and John McOmish. If Team Wyllie win or peel, they win ! The McOmish route to pie is a bit more complicated. They need to win (which would likely demote Team Wyllie to the wooden spoon) and take at least SIX ends and a SEVEN shot winning margin (or just win SEVEN ends). </p><p>May the force be with both teams.<br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-53784474447022896072024-02-12T14:19:00.001+00:002024-02-12T14:19:23.181+00:00Housekeeping - Dinner & Shots Competition<p><b><u>Our annual dinner & Prizegiving</u></b> (which all steak pie winners Will want to attend - Julia, should we auction any pies unclaimed on the night - LoL) is provisionally on :-</p><p>Thursday 25th April - Arrival 6 for 6.30 - at Howies, Waterloo Place, EDINBURGH.</p><p>All members including reserves and partners are welcome to attend a very social evening.</p><p>Julia will circulate more details soon..</p><p><br /></p><p><b><u>Shots Competition</u></b> will commence 22 Feb 2024, </p><p>Zach from our group of New Stone Reserves will be playing as Team iv on the syllabus and above. The ice was very stiff, with only four players seeing some 'strike' stones barely being back ring and plenty of draw and guarding shots being hogged. Never the less, it was the same for everyone.</p><p>At the half way mark, Dave Wyllie was in a narrow 2 point lead from Dale, with Julia and Graeme lagging and separated by only 1 point. Graeme wins the consistency prize for scoring the same in the final four exercises as in the first half but that was still only good enough to win the Wooden Spoon, a spectacular fall for last years winner. Dale faded but still managed to secure 3rd with Julia the only player to score more in her last four exercises than in her first five. (Note to all other skips, she played the difficult convoluted shots better than she dis her strikes, draws and guards). Meanwhile David continued to plug away and end the session with a commanding win by 6 points.</p><p>Stats show that only Julia and Dale had any Zero scoring exercises while Graeme joined them with a run of five consecutive no scores. No-one score an 8 point exercise, although Dave did score two 7 point exercises. </p><p>FINALLY. It should be noted that Julia incorrectly added up the scores ! It was a close run affair with a skips occasionally electing NOT to throw their final stones ! The final score was 7 - 6 to Team Wyllie.</p><p>At the half way mark the Peart squad lead the way after their two wins, they also have advantage of being 'ends' in hand too. One more good win could see Daniel secure the crown. The Wyllie squad will not however give up, so Daniel needs to continue looking in his rear view mirror. Its not yet all over for the McO Rink, who although they have lost both of their games, both being close run affairs, but they need to get their house in order soon.</p><p>Game on.<br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-91415856121326615302023-12-22T17:05:00.002+00:002023-12-22T17:05:36.075+00:00That's it for 2023 Folks.<p> Like your presents, that's a wrap for 2023.</p><p>Hostilities resume on Monday 23rd January 2024 with the Thirds Competition.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrzgenVoKiJ7fjuQjoABAfI2G_44iB_Xn5T1Aw2zx9Fww6SsCm_VCKpDkMXMeHYT2h6kTEQA9oMCIAMjtb7zV862E-Mh6OiaD3Je99aBiQcvxslwul-0xAEJiqrv76hWRGnlEpQBNmqOacLI1tPpk3b7wx4qoBM3aaEqbct_Hj3vGcJiYZybYC9fwAHtk/s307/curling_christmas_lights_ornament-rc6ac6df410974d258d0f9e88d4f306ed_x7s2y_8byvr_307.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="307" data-original-width="307" height="446" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrzgenVoKiJ7fjuQjoABAfI2G_44iB_Xn5T1Aw2zx9Fww6SsCm_VCKpDkMXMeHYT2h6kTEQA9oMCIAMjtb7zV862E-Mh6OiaD3Je99aBiQcvxslwul-0xAEJiqrv76hWRGnlEpQBNmqOacLI1tPpk3b7wx4qoBM3aaEqbct_Hj3vGcJiYZybYC9fwAHtk/w446-h446/curling_christmas_lights_ornament-rc6ac6df410974d258d0f9e88d4f306ed_x7s2y_8byvr_307.jpg" width="446" /></a></div><br /> <br /><p></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-72321020051588093092023-12-18T17:18:00.001+00:002023-12-18T17:18:19.778+00:00Shots Competition - Date Changes<p>I am delighted to advise that our New Stones Reserves have agreed to form a team for our SHOTS Competition, starting on 22 Feb through to the end of the season.</p><p>Rinks from the Trophy Competition will be redesignated using roman numerals:-</p><p>Team A - John Good will now be Team i</p><p>Team B - Julia Mackey will now be team ii</p><p>Team C - Graeme Maguire will now be Team iii</p><p>and Team iv will be formed by Zach Thompson from our new reserve members.</p><p> </p><p>PLEASE AMEND YOUR DIARIES. <br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-36743956603972751512023-12-18T17:08:00.000+00:002023-12-18T17:08:07.438+00:00Christmas Bonspiel - The Movies<p> <span> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTqkSUd7Rt6iLENQITAkfX2QyRVi3tWObCOlH87fO5TIW1Lz5FZLmR687w2vy8Gny7P4CVlojO3mEsUcZrgHsaJptSGgolw1aZZvxs4GDBGZKPth0vyWmWx7WRVvP8TvAXl5X-7MOCF1VKyUQ2_Q-LuDusOI6cz_bV0JkQWHLAJvyuDDDM18I41skw5us/s4000/IMG_20231216_145828.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3000" data-original-width="4000" height="382" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTqkSUd7Rt6iLENQITAkfX2QyRVi3tWObCOlH87fO5TIW1Lz5FZLmR687w2vy8Gny7P4CVlojO3mEsUcZrgHsaJptSGgolw1aZZvxs4GDBGZKPth0vyWmWx7WRVvP8TvAXl5X-7MOCF1VKyUQ2_Q-LuDusOI6cz_bV0JkQWHLAJvyuDDDM18I41skw5us/w510-h382/IMG_20231216_145828.jpg" width="510" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxSMgWUmyqwBpKRuqgj32hag6fLP4l4S9pmYYlBPXcydrD4UKFEcN-zkrhygcZktPxFZGLDjTurNjA4Dk89Fk750e54RjikkQuN2LLkWb4M5WdOLSgU0kDR0-wnN9W2-XLwB5ZHZG2nv1eKVdSlsXUNVGC5NG5nUiyoWlef_YoNcSEZ_H8C0Bkxrd-SY8/s4000/IMG_20231216_172309.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3000" data-original-width="4000" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxSMgWUmyqwBpKRuqgj32hag6fLP4l4S9pmYYlBPXcydrD4UKFEcN-zkrhygcZktPxFZGLDjTurNjA4Dk89Fk750e54RjikkQuN2LLkWb4M5WdOLSgU0kDR0-wnN9W2-XLwB5ZHZG2nv1eKVdSlsXUNVGC5NG5nUiyoWlef_YoNcSEZ_H8C0Bkxrd-SY8/s320/IMG_20231216_172309.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the mass confusion of all the other curlers that witnessed <br />our Bonspiel. With both teams only getting one flavour (out of 5) correct, it was still a tie and because of the larger winning margin, Graeme duly awarded the 'new trophies' to Mike Wood, John McOmish, David McKey and Zach Thompson.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioa5LudrS8gGVDx12fLHPIZWk_W5BvGq0eD7fDRFnnr0L-AElcb7pRZTS2Zz66UEQQTdbzCB98h1J-TSkWKtwUl_9P_HdpU1rDfOZ5fj2YJO0yw19L3ibOYm5q8IhOgTVtFE2bfQPcFBmUX3eP77VvUFhFaJZGCGSbI0JibmkQq79lqUlZTPM5bf9zxAk/s1600/IMG-20231216-WA0000.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioa5LudrS8gGVDx12fLHPIZWk_W5BvGq0eD7fDRFnnr0L-AElcb7pRZTS2Zz66UEQQTdbzCB98h1J-TSkWKtwUl_9P_HdpU1rDfOZ5fj2YJO0yw19L3ibOYm5q8IhOgTVtFE2bfQPcFBmUX3eP77VvUFhFaJZGCGSbI0JibmkQq79lqUlZTPM5bf9zxAk/w139-h185/IMG-20231216-WA0000.jpg" width="139" /></a></div>By popular demand the 'Pink Lady' was declared the best dress but notable mentions also go to one of the Barbies and The Blues Brothers. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwsGWOgCe4hop2e2pUla8ewuLTDtNMcufLNzrrs8cZg_vbAIeXq8VPpMkgR1j-InTKTJsbs8NDFMGGd0jyLz30n-_Ss23vPkLeofODSa8sCA8khGrQQKI6lJGDSVIGLXQbRuzejD0056iL1OTuSCN6EgcDoMtCmHGpw8YVhpgtNw6C_4z7mad_mx0ov00/s839/Jillian.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="839" data-original-width="566" height="208" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwsGWOgCe4hop2e2pUla8ewuLTDtNMcufLNzrrs8cZg_vbAIeXq8VPpMkgR1j-InTKTJsbs8NDFMGGd0jyLz30n-_Ss23vPkLeofODSa8sCA8khGrQQKI6lJGDSVIGLXQbRuzejD0056iL1OTuSCN6EgcDoMtCmHGpw8YVhpgtNw6C_4z7mad_mx0ov00/w140-h208/Jillian.jpeg" width="140" /></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC2czVLQAGhf_k-_cztktkt6nQq5xWhXoLmMdsBOG6BALUsRD_9IU8lkI55k7iMwMR-vzg9fDqWAxC5rL_VOHMKZzXFpPHPtdZZRBGZY-j2DGCPt-6I7J7Qs8sNJ0fC-1YrpzdeRPIuMkUTF1FCXvZsmaRHSrwiDwXUrkzLNuFLvj7Ua0Y8sTPoukZikQ/s1600/WhatsApp%20Image%202023-12-16%20at%2017.15.02.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhC2czVLQAGhf_k-_cztktkt6nQq5xWhXoLmMdsBOG6BALUsRD_9IU8lkI55k7iMwMR-vzg9fDqWAxC5rL_VOHMKZzXFpPHPtdZZRBGZY-j2DGCPt-6I7J7Qs8sNJ0fC-1YrpzdeRPIuMkUTF1FCXvZsmaRHSrwiDwXUrkzLNuFLvj7Ua0Y8sTPoukZikQ/w145-h258/WhatsApp%20Image%202023-12-16%20at%2017.15.02.jpeg" width="145" /></a></div><p></p><p>Despite constant interruptions from Penicuik Curling Club the day was rounded off with a very good Xmas Dinner from Paul and his crew.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiicKsb8B5TLXpKukH_LkHVwObVtHguO5yJhy1OCNLx5pAyIcfFQXNgE_It9o7d4Hl9XsEUuqamwPwYyGeeRjsgGfYrZQe43wabMEyHa7J2blZfBqWXhtJDw1F0Pj0dS6ibO0cTV-MR4SDBqXuEbmR-we8iceNzxnP2dxT7QquAmy7c7ZRDobiZPtZM_MI/s614/Rosie.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="614" data-original-width="302" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiicKsb8B5TLXpKukH_LkHVwObVtHguO5yJhy1OCNLx5pAyIcfFQXNgE_It9o7d4Hl9XsEUuqamwPwYyGeeRjsgGfYrZQe43wabMEyHa7J2blZfBqWXhtJDw1F0Pj0dS6ibO0cTV-MR4SDBqXuEbmR-we8iceNzxnP2dxT7QquAmy7c7ZRDobiZPtZM_MI/w147-h300/Rosie.jpeg" width="147" /></a></div><p></p><br /><br /><br /><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-30382023420381273542023-12-12T17:01:00.003+00:002023-12-12T17:01:23.585+00:00Province Pairs<p>David Wyllie and Dale Callander represented us at the Province Pairs. </p><p>In their first game they went down by a single shot to the five time winners Athelstaneford and then went on to beat Haddington, again by a single shot. This was to be decided by Total Ends won over two five end games.</p><p>The first game saw Graeme (who traded Pam to the undermanned opposition) squaring off against John Good's duo (and Pam). A tight game that ended up peels with 3 shots each but more importantly John winning the last end to be up by a single end.</p><p>Second up was Graeme's team again against Julia's squad. Graeme took a while to adapt from playing a drawing game to Julia's hitting style. Again a tight game peels in shots and ends going in to the last end which Julia took by a single shot.</p><p>The final game, fittingly saw the two winning teams, each with three ends under their belt face each other. John struck hard and fast taking the first two ends leaving Julia having to win the next three to take home the 'pies'. Julia took the third end but John secured the fourth giving him an unassailable lead and hands were shaken.</p><p>Congratulations to John Good, Rosie Clark and Pam Clark (grateful now for the team swap!) who take the Knockout (!) Trophy and the seasons first Steak Pies.<br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-8759603220792829602023-10-20T16:30:00.001+01:002023-10-20T16:30:16.917+01:00Season 23/24<p> Apologies for the late update.</p><p>The website has now been updated with the latest version of the Syllabus, which can be printed off. Rosie, our <br />president, again decided to play as second, delegating her skipping duties to Dale and her counterpart on the next sheet Graeme. Meanwhile Julia, vice, took her duties seriously along with her nominated counterpart, Mike.<p></p><p>Both games were tense and nervy, with Julia even electing to blank her second end. After five ends, both games were tied at three shots each, Graeme while drawing for a two tapped Mike' stone up to drop a shot for the Pres, fortunately Dale and Rosie took a single, keeping the overall game tied after six ends. That was when Dale (and Rosie) decided to turn up the temperature and the biggest score of the night by stealing a three! Despite a fightback from Julia, she only managed a two in the final end.</p><p>The aggregated scores were President 11 and Vice President 9</p><p>So, for the final time this season it is a BIG congratulations to the outgoing (literally and socially) President Rosie Clark and her teams of Dale, Daniel and Suzanne and her deputes Graeme, Dave W, John N and Cathy. <br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-91125173172470890412023-03-07T13:24:00.001+00:002023-03-07T13:24:46.150+00:00Update - Corrections<p> The results for the Peter Allan and the Shots Competitions have been updated to reflect the Mike/Graeme game which was a default game (not a peel as originally posted).</p><p>The Day/date of the Annual Dinner and Prize Giving (above) has now also been amended. With on and off <br /><br />ice discussions about a Default win, Adam was lent to an under manned Team Wood, so a game could be played. As this was Team Mackey's and the Maguire Squads final games Julia needed a win, which she got to <i>almos</i>t ensure the Shots Title while Graeme, with an ends and shots advantage needed a peel to take the overall.<p></p><p>The game (and the title) came down to the final two stones which saw Mike make a miraculous shot to edge out Team Maguire. With the 'hammer' and his final stone of the regular season, Graeme answered the call with a delicate draw and diagonal tap back to take the end and secure the peel. No further discussion of a 'default' game was needed (although it continued in the changing rooms).</p><p>So it is congratulations to Graeme Maguire, John Good, Adam Hicks (who Graeme will NOT be lending to the opposition in any future games as he played too well for Mike!) and Ian Campbell. They started out the season strongly and managed, at the end, just to hang on to their advantage.<br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-9732538907159282112023-02-13T14:27:00.001+00:002023-02-13T14:27:10.741+00:00Province Knockout<p>The semi finals saw the holders, Haddington, being comprehensively
beaten by Team Aberlady. The other game saw Dirleton triumph over
Yester.</p><p></p><p>After a short break, it was back onto the ice for the
victorious teams. Aberlady got off to a strong start with twos in the
first and third ends with Dirleton only taking a single in end two.
This gave Aberlady a 4-1 scoreline after three ends. From there, it was
one way traffic with Dirleton taking the remaining four ends. It was
still a tight match with them only managing to take more than a single
in one of these ends.</p><p>The final score was 6 - 4 to Dirleton.</p><p><b>Big

Graeme however came good at the last and was the only player to have an 8 point exercise (Chap and Lie) and stole it by 1 point in a relatively low scoring contest.</p><p>So its congratulations to Graeme and Julia.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis6VXH90tASGYW1hNSMSaQsFJPXcjZRN9_dg6auchw-RKjKC8FaLgS_T3gfMMkKEtHYb2_VaPZxZ1dUPGKsPcIUiLuSYIpYg-I5dbsiA0JdDHv03DGNr4o77VY1qrYIY3Kp1IsWwidZCsdTnQgn8VeeO1LMRCUTwEbB82omSUHw75WstaPkqj23Sie/s661/003.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="145" data-original-width="661" height="130" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis6VXH90tASGYW1hNSMSaQsFJPXcjZRN9_dg6auchw-RKjKC8FaLgS_T3gfMMkKEtHYb2_VaPZxZ1dUPGKsPcIUiLuSYIpYg-I5dbsiA0JdDHv03DGNr4o77VY1qrYIY3Kp1IsWwidZCsdTnQgn8VeeO1LMRCUTwEbB82omSUHw75WstaPkqj23Sie/w596-h130/003.jpg" width="596" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQpUz6PCUUxUEcpgYO0mAB2TDtcSiE9F6f5C_q2NdEPS0WcLLKhCKokpN6LXpxielL6o5lWDWqR6Xi_ks4kj8aQRVgtgPpSeFRAdjkSqQj9iSkP6z8T3uOF3W8-5YYwj8GMZh4kqRgPR0dJTOTPinRL_32BR-eOqM5u5kenT9YjGMQ3BufssJ-5nd_/s353/004.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="353" data-original-width="235" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQpUz6PCUUxUEcpgYO0mAB2TDtcSiE9F6f5C_q2NdEPS0WcLLKhCKokpN6LXpxielL6o5lWDWqR6Xi_ks4kj8aQRVgtgPpSeFRAdjkSqQj9iSkP6z8T3uOF3W8-5YYwj8GMZh4kqRgPR0dJTOTPinRL_32BR-eOqM5u5kenT9YjGMQ3BufssJ-5nd_/s320/004.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><br /><br />Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-21032445604918582752023-01-30T16:53:00.001+00:002023-01-30T16:59:51.832+00:00A Third of John Good<p> With one game left to play in the Thirds Competition, it is congratulations to Team Good, consisting of Pam Clark, Ian Campbell and Julia Mackey who are 'Bothy Bound' to cash in their Steak Pie vouchers. My, by now famous, inability to count to two means that I could have claimed John and his merry men (and women) champions a couple of weeks ago but the extra suspense did us all good.</p><p>John has one game left to play, against Team McOmish. The McOmish squad are currently sitting in fourth place and realistically second place is now out of their reach and has been claimed by David Wyllie. They can still overtake the Peart team but need a peel to do so.</p><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-a8MdCd-iGM14MrLob6hCRql2cQ-QVsZOlp5LIUDu8dkF3KPLSt97WugmeZWxGmKJBiEJJLGuQFxIDI6_ALjwGDz5lXwF4-vwXqL_EaN-uK5fl57oVIUynczBGc6MGuDFzZ7N9k1LRPz-rPzk_1cSWgLTq4OteCF1c7G3Jr2nrj-ZTl3Lujsr4oBA/s254/006.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="220" data-original-width="254" height="220" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-a8MdCd-iGM14MrLob6hCRql2cQ-QVsZOlp5LIUDu8dkF3KPLSt97WugmeZWxGmKJBiEJJLGuQFxIDI6_ALjwGDz5lXwF4-vwXqL_EaN-uK5fl57oVIUynczBGc6MGuDFzZ7N9k1LRPz-rPzk_1cSWgLTq4OteCF1c7G3Jr2nrj-ZTl3Lujsr4oBA/s1600/006.jpg" width="254" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Skipper Good in USA action<br /></td></tr></tbody></table><br /><p><br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-49678482017980416072023-01-24T15:07:00.000+00:002023-01-24T15:07:34.371+00:00Province Knockout<p>Congratulations to Team Aberlady who, despite a poor first end, prevailed to beat Doo'cot 10 - 7 in the first round.</p><p>They now go on to play Haddington in the Semi Final on Sun 12-2-23 at 14.30 - and then hopefully straight on to the Final. <br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-529367533180460086.post-30477694460267136602023-01-17T12:13:00.000+00:002023-01-17T12:13:06.892+00:00Delivery !<p>A huge thanks to Vice President Julia who 'herded the cats' and arranged for a 'Sort your Delivery' coaching session with the hugely experienced Paul. A big shout out to Annabelle who stepped up to skip her rink and appeared to be the only person (other than Graeme) able to read, follow and impart instructions/rules clearly to the other players. A good time seemed to be had by all, although it must be noted that only one player had to be penalised for the 'silent' end. That person was President Rosie who was unable to hold back a 'guffaw'. In the end, the results were extremely tight with the convenor and his team of Rachael Macrae and Rosie 'guffaw' Clark running out the winners with 7 points, ahead of Team Dale(Adam and Cathy) with 6.5 points. Third was the Martin squad (Pam and Ian) with 6 points and finally the Good Rink (Megan, Sheena and David McK) with 5 points.<p></p><p>Most of the players then, after having got dressed, stayed to enjoy soup and sandwiches courtesy of Paul.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqDIRj8vuMbNX8Qp40InwrfYf2dWlAMcHzRCQJnh2Vtx0LLn7dLGcXOb2DsPqvQ_Vp0rRxSR8J6iily2v8qJ0XzDGXbCmxXTaVD3SE3mhVHf9xWai1EEU70ek7NLliWFJFHFCg4xFdDLE8EdCEfNbsClQsl7MKnf-efAmgV_pUQBhTK2naSJs9my4Z/s3648/20221210%20Bonspiel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3648" data-original-width="2736" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqDIRj8vuMbNX8Qp40InwrfYf2dWlAMcHzRCQJnh2Vtx0LLn7dLGcXOb2DsPqvQ_Vp0rRxSR8J6iily2v8qJ0XzDGXbCmxXTaVD3SE3mhVHf9xWai1EEU70ek7NLliWFJFHFCg4xFdDLE8EdCEfNbsClQsl7MKnf-efAmgV_pUQBhTK2naSJs9my4Z/s320/20221210%20Bonspiel.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><p></p><p><br /></p>Graemehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03690849762727556021noreply@blogger.com0
